Gabrielle Reece started collecting national athletic accolades years before Gabrielle Reece turned professional. In addition to earning All-Tournament honors numerous times during her days at Florida State, Gabrielle Reece ranked 5th in career blocks while competing in the NCAA. In 1990, the Dodge National Athletic Awards Committee named her the Most Inspiring Collegiate Athlete in the country. The previous year, Gabrielle Reece had been selected as one of Rolling Stone magazine's Wonder Women of Sport.
Gabrielle Reece spent four of her five
years in the Bud Light Pro Beach Volleyball League (1993-97) as Captain
of the Nike team. In her first year, Gabrielle Reece led the league in blocks, and
in all but her final season, she scored the most kills. Gabrielle Reece was twice
named the Offensive Player of the Year (1994 and '95), and holds the
league record for kills per match, in a single season, and in a
tournament. |
